Duamutef's Glorious Vore RPG, version 2.14

Note: due to circumstances beyond my control (mostly Microsoft being fuckers and dropping support for their own development platforms), I can't really fix bugs or provide tech support for VRPG. As it stands, it works for some people but not others. If you have trouble running it, your best bet is to look here.

Download the sucker! (28 megs)

Note: Apparently 2.14 has gremlins. If it doesn't work, try 2.12.

Also, both versions are retarded about registering "DMC2.ocx" with windows. If you encounter an error message, go to where the game is installed and double-click on DMC2.ocx to register it manually. If it isn't in your game directory, try your windows system directories. If it isn't there either, download it here.

New in version 2.14

Note: Version 2.14 will likely be the last version, as working with it is like wrestling a ten-headed hydra. It hangs the IDE half the time I run it which means half of my bugfixes magically revert themselves.

A bit about the game...

The black dragoness Thirsha has grown too bold.  She swoops from the sky and feeds upon the protectors of each town, weakening them all and allowing the unchallenged beasts of the wild to proliferate like never before.  Only one hope remains--a prophecy fortold by one of Thirsha's victims speaks of an egg that would birth a great hero, one worthy to challenge Thirsha and bring her buffet-style reign of terror to an end.  The people wait in fear for this hero, and if she is defeated they could all be doomed to a quick death in the belly of the great dragoness...
This great hero is you, obviously.  On your quest you will discover rare and powerful artifacts, enchanted gems and weapons of untold power.  None of which can stop you from becoming a meal for the beasts of the wild.  But so long as you are still not utterly digested, there is hope for success, a chance to find Thirsha and give her a taste of her own medicine.  And with each victory, you shall grow stronger.

And now, a taste of the world...

Monsters

The beasts that fill your homeland are many and varied, but all share one thing in common--a voracious appetite.  From the cruel harpies who swoop down from the skies mouth-first to the titanic giant worms who's stomachs dwarf their own bodies, everything you come across has the potential to end your quest in a decidedly thorough fashion.  They each have their own subtle strengths and weaknesses, but none of them will find any trouble in fitting a girl like you inside their bodies.

Weapons

You are not entirely helpless against the monsters that would make a quick meal out of you.  Bows, maces, axes, knives, swords and many other weapons are at your disposal in your attempts to destroy Thirsha.  With the proper weaponry, the beasts will find you a hard meal to keep down indeed.  You can learn to master particular weapons, becoming deadly when wielding other weapons of that same type.  But you never know when you might find something better--or when your magical spear may suddenly dissolve in the belly of a giant crocodile.

Armor and Clothing

You can further protect yourself from the depradations of monsters by choosing the proper attire--cloth bras and armor plates both do their part in turning aside claws and, in more unfortunate circumstances, absorbing digestive juices.  You will always be limited to what you can afford, but as far as dressing goes, the more you're wearing, the better.  One  rather expensive drawback to clothing is that it isn't any harder to digest than you are--if you make it a habit of letting the beasts get the better of you, you could be making many trips back to town to replace your smelly and corroded clothing.  There are over 60 individual pieces of clothing and armor that you can combine to provide protection for your otherwise soft and digestible skin.

Gems and Runes

Greater still are the powers you can imbue in your items once you have found the precious gems that lie scattered around the land.  Inserting these beautiful stones into your weapons and armor gives them magical properties, which in turn increase your power so long as you are wearing them.  Beware adding too many stones into any one item, however--too many and the effects of new stones will be lost.

Locations

The lands you will travel include swamps, mountains, and even vast deserts.  Each is home to a different variety of beast--the snakes and their carnivorous reptillian ilk revel in the fetid muck of the bogs, whereas the firey volcanic regions house succubi and other cruel and hungry creatures of darkness.  But each area houses it's own unique treasures, and riches abound for those brave enough to risk exploring the monsters' own hunting grounds.

Character Classes

Perhaps even more important than your equipment are your personal abilities.  You will have to choose which path to take--whether you be a powerful sorceress, a dangerous amazon or an enigmatic enchantress.  Each will have their own abilities, but each will have to learn to grow beyond their own limitations if they are to survive.  Some say that even more enigmatic paths are available--if this is true, youwill have to discover them on your own...

Still not convinced?  Take a gander at these ultra-sexy-even-if-horribly-outdated screenshots:

Note that the fonts and window colors will look slightly different on your machine, unless your windows settings are as oddball as mine...
Note also that the new 2.0 looks a bit different than this now. Hell, these screenshots were outdated as of the official 1.0 release. But I'm too lazy to update the screenshots. I'm still not getting paid, you know. On the plus side, most stuff looks better, so.

"...So PLEASE don't say I'm going to have to pay for it now."

Well...if you insist.
Duamutef's Glorious Vore RPG is 100% homegrown freeware.  (Down with the man!  Or something.)  I might try to do something selfish with the expansion pack, but the origional is free for all intents and purposes--you can download it and not even feel guilty.

"I DOWNLOADED IT AND NOW I MUST WORSHIP YOU."

E-mail me here with any comments, compliments, complaints, conversation or whatever else you feel like.  I like getting mail.  If you don't do anything else regarding this game, at least e-mail me and say hi.  I get so lonely.

"I DOWNLOADED IT AND IT'S ALL SCREWED.  YOU SUCK."

This thing is officially seven years old now. I need to get on with my life! As such, I'm not really releasing new versions.

Known Issues

This is the stuff that's bork that I know of:

  1. Graphic glitches (grey bits, lines, etc.) This is pure laziness on my part
  2. Some weapons aren't showing up (I noticed this one on my own)
  3. The graphics sUx0r in 16-bit color mode. (I might fix this someday, but it's damn complicated to do.)
